Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
is an ambitious agriculture insurance scheme of Narendra Modi
Government. The central government provides insurance cover and
financial assistance to the farmers in the times of difficulty.
The insurance cover & financial help to the farmers under the
PMFBY is provided in the events of crops damaged due to heavy rain,
other natural calamities, pests or diseases. The scheme is being
implemented across the country and farmers can avail the scheme
benefits.
Premium for Fasal Bima Yojana has been brought down significantly by
the government to 2 percent for Kharif and 1.5 percent or the sum
insured for Rabi crops. The interested farmers can register themselves
online under the PMFBY on the official website of Crop Insurance by the
Department of Agriculture & Cooperation and Farmers Welfare,
Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
How to Apply Online as Farmer Under PMFBY
To register online as a farmer under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, log on to Crop Insurance Website and fill all teh required details.
The interested farmers need to fill all the basic details such as
Name, complete address including state, district, block, gram panchayat,
village.
Land and bank details are also required to be filled to receive the PMFBY policy amount directly into the bank account.
After the farmers fill the complete form and submit, an application
number will be provided using which they can track, modify or print
their application in future.
The government has also released PMFBY android app to view more information and status about the crop insurance schemes.
