Crop Loan Scheme 2016-17 for Farmers Approved by Cabinet
A farmer centered Interest Subvention Scheme has been approved by the
Prime Minster Narendra Modi for farmers for the year 2016-17. An amount
of Rs. 18,276 crore has been earmarked for the scheme.
Under the scheme, the farmers will be able to get a short term crop
loan of upto Rs. 3 lakh for one year at interest rate of just 4% per
annum.

National Agriculture Market Website enam.gov.in Launched
Indian Government has launched a unified pan India trading portal eNam
for farmers. Named as NAM or National Agriculture Market portal is
designed to create a unified national market for agricultural
commodities. The portal will be run by the Ministry of Agriculture and
Farmer’s Welfare.
The portal has been launched as a part of Digital India movement and
towards doubling the agricultural income. The portal was inaugurated by
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in presence of Shri Radha Mohan Singh,
Union minister of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare.
7 Android Apps for Farmers Launched by Narendra Modi Government
Narendra Modi Government has launched several android apps for
farmers and agriculture market. The applications aims to provide
information about the latest agriculture trends, equipment, technologies
and methods being used.
The android apps for farmers can be downloaded from the official
website mkisan.gov.in or from the Google play store. Below is the list
of all android apps launched by Narendra Modi Government for farmers
Apply Online as Farmer Under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
is an ambitious agriculture insurance scheme of Narendra Modi
Government. The central government provides insurance cover and
financial assistance to the farmers in the times of difficulty.
The insurance cover & financial help to the farmers under the
PMFBY is provided in the events of crops damaged due to heavy rain,
other natural calamities, pests or diseases. The scheme is being
implemented across the country and farmers can avail the scheme
benefits.
